Market Monday: Bolt Depot

Here is a new feature for the site: Market Monday. Each Monday I will share a supplier of some sort that may be useful to someone. They will be quite varied and all will be useful in some way.

First up is Bolt Depot. They have nearly every kind of hardware imaginable – wood screws, metal screws, hex bolts, carriage bolts, lag bolts, washers, eye bolts, J bolts, U bolts, etc. Next time you need some hardware, check them out.

Ruger 10/22 Stock

I finally settled on a stock (for now) for my Ruger 10/22 project. I decided on a Hogue Over Molded stock I picked up from Advanced Armament for $40. Besides some nice silencers, turns out they have quite a selection of other accessories. I also picked up a scope rail from them as it turns out the stock rail for the 10/22 doesn’t fit the rings on my scope. Seems to me like a good reason to buy a new scope as well.

I was planning ahead when getting this stock – it is cut for a .920 bull barrel profile. With some more searching, I will find a black or blued heavy contour threaded barrel to stick on it.

With any luck, this project will be finished up this year and I’ll be ready to start the next one.

Supplier: Jameco

Today’s featured supplier is Jameco Electronics. Jameco is what RadioShack would be if RadioShack was cool and carried everything you needed. Jameco has tools, components, kits, chemicals, and just about everything you need for electronics exploration. They have good prices and quick service.

If you need some electronics tools, components, or kits, check out Jameco and see what they can do for you.

Supplier: McMaster-Carr

McMaster-Carr (mcmaster.com) is one of those places you turn to when all other sources have failed to turn up the required parts. Odds are McMaster will have it if you need it. Chances are they will have it at a decent price and be able to ship it quickly too. I have had orders shipped the same day I ordered them which results in next day delivery quite often.

They have a large selection of materials, tools, fasteners, safety equipment, and just about everything else. Check out their site and browse the catalog to get a glimpse at what they carry. And, if you ever come across one of their print catalogs, grab it. They are quite large and comprehensive and highly useful for looking up various parts.
